Nothing leaves
your Mac.
Recall is a Mac app by Raegent that searches your files, screenshots and clipboard history.
Recall indexes and searches on your Mac. Files, screenshot text, clipboard history, and searches never leave it. Raegent never receives them. There are no accounts and no telemetry.
Recall makes two kinds of network request, and only these two:
- License check, Pro only. Activating or deactivating a license, and a quiet re-check about once a month while Pro is active, contact Raegent’s license server, which confirms the key with our payment provider, Dodo Payments. The request contains the license key and an anonymous ID for the Mac (a one-way hash of its hardware ID). Recall Free never makes this request. If you are offline, Pro keeps working.
- Update checks, only if you ask. Automatic update checks are off until you turn them on. A check, automatic or from “Check for Updates”, downloads a short list of versions from raegent.com and carries only Recall’s version number.
The license server stores a hash of the license key, the anonymous Mac ID, Dodo Payments’ IDs for the activation, and when it was activated and last checked. Dodo Payments sees the activation under a label made from the anonymous ID, never your Mac’s name. The server does not store your name or email. The download server keeps one number per day for downloads of each version and one for update checks from each app version. It does not keep IP addresses or anything else about who made the request. Purchases are handled by Dodo Payments under its own policy.
